Unbearable

Said his name was Orion,
“light of Heaven” –
starry-eyed, I succumbed
godlike presence, I believed,
could walk on water –
but his light fast flickered
squelched by insatiable ego,
only thing he walked on
was me…
Little Bear.

Love-In

Dreams big
this budding leader,
astral charts
painted on her walls,
thoughts always adventuring.

Eight summers
we’ve camped together
grown our minds
and spirit –
an inter-generational
love-in.

(It’s summer camp time at Grandma’s again.  Written for Ragtag Community’s prompt, astral, and Fandango’s, camp.)

No Fool Here

We grow our world
under evening light,
all soul charm and dance –
he a gentle father,
nice guy, quiet…

I believed.

But when search neared,
touchy – see a former ruse,
one smile warmed and…
sod off!

(Friday, I visit Magnetic Poetry online – words not my own, but I take responsibility for the construction. Image from personal collection.)

Chasing Snakes

Who ghosts desire?
I long for a kiss,
my glass belly ice
& concrete clouding
our porcelain peace.

A good woman lingers,
then after voices joy

I, marble angel,
let men like father,
with grass on their hand,
pat eternity,
the door sheer,
timely,

Life!

(Disclaimer:  Fridays I play around online with Magnetic Poetry.  The words are not mine, and therefore; I cannot be held responsible for the outcome…right?! Lol.)

Existence

Isolated, insulated, ignored –
islands we are not –

relationships define us –
we dance,
weave,
intertwine

stories grown
from love,
struggle,
encounters

Yearning for love’s
reciprocity innate –

to delight in discovery,
sludge through pain,
emerge stronger

markers of existence.
