Said his name was Orion,
“light of Heaven” –
starry-eyed, I succumbed
godlike presence, I believed,
could walk on water –
but his light fast flickered
squelched by insatiable ego,
only thing he walked on
was me…
Little Bear.
(Tuesdays, I share a poem from Twitter @Vjknutson. )
I had to read that the second time to get it. (I’m a little slow these days and I know a boy named Orion and the dog across the street it Little Bear so that threw me off a bit!) Good poem.
