Lockdown Tanka

A grackle shimmers
sun highlighting blue – my mood
queer melancholy –
absent knocks, talks, minutiae
remains discomforting din.

transports me to unseen realms
a fleshless dreamer
seeking oneness, Orenda,
a noetic salvation.

Celebrity bores
I crave sapid exchange – bird
song, sweet and tender
I am past prime – gigs dried up
but nature provides plenty.

nest of promises, story
filled houses of stone?
Expectations built lacking
substance – original sin?

images ripe, words lacking
waste of genius
shadows whisper of bathos –
a rewrite is imminent.

spectacle captured

broken – contemplate message.

numinous moments
catalyst for earthbound soul –
church impulses, breathe spirit.

absent an audience
