I love the title of this lovely and contemplative tanka. Clarion refers to a trumpet (like Trumpet Swans) and also to paying attention to something to contemplate. Excellent word choices. You made my heart sing/trumpet. 🙂

Well, I know of three kinds – Mute, Tundra, and Trumpeter. Mute swans have been imported here to decorate our Stratford on Avon. Otherwise, I’m not sure they are part of our landscape typically.

Perfect. I, like you, live by the River Thames – albeit a different Thames but am fortunate to see and hear the swans as they take off….I can watch them for hours. Love the. image Thank you.m
