misinformation ignoring collective needs?
Focus on we, as if we is me, and
they are the reason our attempts fail
Assertiveness has no hold
when obligations are cheapened
And time/ history is ignored
for a feel-good moment now.
How does one decipher the nonsense
weed through the flimsy constructs
And realign with a vision –
powered by love for all?

the new hegemony
Lawlessness mocks
governing principles
Body of democracy
faltering beneath weight
archaic ideologies –
dangerous take on leadership.

Does resolution follow inquisition?
History suggests otherwise…
Yet, here we are
seeking enlightenment,
counting on understanding
to amend the unresolved
Wrestling with denial
praying that research
will unravel falsities,
berate the inappropriate
Good and evil vying
for omnipotence
each of us personally engaged
Righteousness
such a vile possession.

definitions slipping
societal fog
One cries freedom
while another gasps
for breath…
Is destiny a one-manned
sailboat navigating
ambiguous waters?
Or have we fallen,
poked the beast
of destruction?

become our normal?
Facts, once the sword
of intellect, redundant –
we fight with hyperbole
Voices raised, egos puffed –
I long for calm, doubt
we have the wherewithal
to bridge the divide.

of a volcano, each complacency
shaken by treacherous rumbles
While some seek equality
others chew on bitter lack
and who profits when
tempers succumb to

sanctity violated
nuance exploded –
Will democracy endure?
What grows beneath the ashes?

Remaining silhouette
of a leader –
hero was expected –
instead, hit with quirkiness
Unaffected by indifference
accepting his alibis
his ego bloodies
we remain strangers
Ride along
as hive buzzes lies
he sulks at refusals
commands attention
Reputation shredded
still holds appeal
gobsmacked intelligence –
and so it goes on.

oozing in political corners
I seek fiery tones
the hues of transformation

the stork master
spews cryptic babble
Is there hope to be had?
Don’t speak forked-tongue
cannot decipher the yarn
Suspect time alone holds truth
experience will betray the lies
