Remaining silhouette
of a leader –
hero was expected –
instead, hit with quirkiness
Unaffected by indifference
accepting his alibis
his ego bloodies
we remain strangers
Ride along
as hive buzzes lies
he sulks at refusals
commands attention
Reputation shredded
still holds appeal
gobsmacked intelligence –
and so it goes on.

Didn’t know you were a bird.

Gobsmacked covers it, as does “ego bloodies” – well done. Wake me up in a month.

do you think it will be over? I pray so.

You raise a good point. I actually think it will. I have no reason why – just a hazy hunch. Perhaps wishful thinking along with prayers, but we’ll know soon enough.

Some great description in this poem , hive buzzes lies…Love that word – gobsmacked – almost every day I’m shaking my head.

I turned it all off while my husband was in hospital. Highly recommended. Thanks Liz.
