Political

Words have lost clarity
definitions slipping
societal fog

One cries freedom
while another gasps
for breath…

Is destiny a one-manned
sailboat navigating
ambiguous waters?

Or have we fallen,
poked the beast
of destruction?

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. I fear the answer to the question posed by your last stanza is yes. How are we ever going to get out of this mess that politics has put us in?

Your image has such a soulless city vibe to it.

  2. Fitting seasonal poetry. I like seeing us pay attention. I agree with Hart Inspirations, and noticed another poet I follow posted in mind of politics this morning. As did I. Thursday politics? Or, simply affectation. Apt sample. Cheers.
