Time stands still; we wait
the noise of speculation stark contrast
to the reality that confronts us
Where do we go from here
and what authority to trust
and in this imposed solitude
can we find the strength
of reflection, the courage
to follow an inner lead?

The image is lovely, is it a painting? It’s always good to reflect when the time stands still. Beautiful poem.

Thank you. It’s a photograph that I played with.

I love your image. I think following our inner lead is the only viable option left to us at this point.

We need more of this – “reflection”.

Every time I follow my inner lead…..the outcome is good. It’s when I ignore that inner lead, (my gut instinct) that I am lead to inner and outer turmoil.

I have the same experience, Janet. I should have learned by now to trust my gut.

As much as I know to listen to my gut….I can still occasionally ignore very clear messages that are being sent to me, via gut:) – however, I am much better now than when I was younger! Thank you so much for reading and commenting…

Too many of us are lemmings, we need more following their inner lead. I like what you did with the photo to accompany the poem.

Betrayal by external authority seems to be required for people to awaken to their own inner wisdom. Sad, but true. I hope more can. Great poem, VJ.
