I mine fragmented images
of nighttime forays,
grasping for a gem –
subject to trickery
impatient and unwise –
ego shields illumination
abhors vulnerability
distracts me with logic-
Still, the dreams continue
enticing a deeper dive
(Tuesdays, I borrow from Twitter @Vjknutson. Image my own)
I can relate to this with the wild dreams I wake up to daily!

You too? A source that never lessens, it seems

Oh, yes! Every single time I wake up, whether in the middle of the night or in the morning. I’m a lucid dreamer as well, always in color. They are very vivid in presentation and with emotions. I guess this is why my creativity can take me to weird places. lol π

Love, love, love the imagery of ‘mining fragmented images’. What a rich and wonderful way to describe dreams, sequences, slices that flow through. π₯°

Thank you Victoria. I studied dream therapy in University, and it’s been a lifelong habit of recording and playing with the images.

I often find I cycle through vivid complicated dreams and then nothing. I loved that grasping for a gem…I find myself often doing just that.

Me too. I try to write them down before they can escape

Dreams are ok to swim in.
As long as we don’t dive in.
Too deep or too steep.

The subconscious mind can be a tricky place to nagivate. I love the image you created to accompany the poem.
