Curious by nature
and driven by hope
we push forward
Spring ourselves
from mud-mired traps
of psychological undoings
Focus on a horizon
where sunrises
and sunsets
offer glimpses of glory
Optimist and pessimist
alike, daring to believe
that the beckoning future
bears equal promise.
(Image my own)
And optimist is living with vividness and pessimist is living with dead soul…

What a gorgeous image, VJ! My mind is a see-saw between optimism and pessimism. Hard to keep believing in a future right now.

It is, I know, but what else do we have to hang onto? Thanks.

powerful … if we don’t believe in that ‘beckoning future’ then what is it all about?

pleasure … know it’s tough with present lockdown and carry on but we have to believe it gets better or we can get lost in hopelessness …

Optimism is beautifully reflected in your image as the trees reach for that gorgeous sky. Love your poem and how would we recognize optimism without pessimism? Your title expresses it well.

I like the sharp edges within your image – however you created that, it sure works to illustrate the optimism/pessimism edges within just about anyone responding to just about any situation. I know whenever one of the two silences the other within I am missing something … gotta trust some higher intelligence telling me which way to lean at a given moment! Very hard to look at the same scene through two different windows concurrently. I do give myself permission to declare OOPS, let’s look at that from another angle.

Love the OOPS! I feel like I have a running dialogue going on in my head at all times…the side effects of living a quiet life, lol.. Thanks.

I’ve heard that the optimist says, “This is the best!” and the pessimist says, “I hope not.” Lovely poem and the graphic is stunning. A good way to start the day.
