Purpose –
much coveted
despair-driven –
has returned.
Energy –
motivation
to proceed –
building
Willingness –
once vibrant
now constrained –
resists.
Chasms –
loss created
unparalleled –
require bridges.
Purpose –
discovery born
enthusiastic –
persists.

Great prose! The Greek hero Hercules offers us many lessons on resilience. He teaches us that everyone has monsters they need to conquer, seemingly impossible tasks that they have to accomplish and tragedies they have to overcome. I wrote a blog article on this titled “From Zero to Hero -The Myth of Hercules” – https://authorjoannereed.net/from-zero-to-hero-the-myth-of-hercules/. Feel free to check it out.

To be or not to be, and resilience wins the day, that strong inner core won’t let go, thankfully.

The Buddha said your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it. Sounds like a tall order to me.

A very tall order! My father used to say his purpose was to drink Canada dry (he was an immigrant).

Do you mean the soda or to literally drink until Canada was dry?

It was a typical Dad joke. Sadly he meant both. He’d also say “I’m not drinking anymore….course I’m not drinking any less either.” Funny, funny, till it wasn’t.

The content is encouraging and the format you chose was perfect. I really loved how the poem curled back onto itself.
