Shoo, Pity

Pity is a feathered thing,
perches high above my bed,
feeds off flakes of moulting skin,
devouring the essence of me,
till bone rattling with distraught,
I scare it off.

  1. This entire piece gives you a great visual of pitfalls and determination but this line here was amazing – “feeds off flakes of moulting skin”. We “become” with every failure, disappointment or stressor in our lives as long as we don’t give into each potential for pity. Wonderful, VJ! And the image is stunning. My hat’s off to you. 🙂

  2. Reblogged this on I Write Her and commented:
VJ knocks it out of the park with this piece! In my comments, I mentioned “We “become” with every failure, disappointment or stressor in our lives as long as we don’t give in to each potential for pity. ” because she absolutely understood that with these words. Another one for the “hits home” category. Enjoy!
