Outward facing –
contrived effort –
composure checked,
face appropriately presented.
I turn away –
internal chaos clouding –
lacking resources
for social banter
Wolves taunt me –
predatory monsters
shaming me into retreat –
defences down.
Wade back into superficial,
desperation seeking solace –
hide the flooding within.
A salute to your two sides, VJ. Could those wolves be herding you away from social blunders? It’s good to have a get-away space that’s physical … it’s ESSENTIAL to have a get-away space within, an acceptance of the priority of that sacred space. I’ve been accused of “tuning out” when the truth is I’m tuning IN … to matters no one else is privy to!

Good way to put it! Wolves certainly know how to be both solo and social.

My duelling personas crave more energy and hours in the day. Some rare days I surprise myself with a burst …. but I am going off on a tangent.
I meant to say …. I enjoyed this and can oh so relate dear V.J!

Ooh! This one makes me cringe because I have been there and will be there again.
