Rain

Rain has returned
Winter’s fickle nature
overturning hope

I cower beneath
bedsheets, body
on fire – await

an impulse greater
than this pain –
creativity the antidote.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. Just love what you do with zentangle “technique” – and in this image, the faces far left and far right make me want to hug ’em both! I’ll hug the artist … with words since you’re far out of physical reach.
I am having one of those just-stay-under-covers mornings but alas the new puppy keeps barking the opposite … in spite of having been out, fed, out again. Oh, to have puppy energy inside me rather than at the foot of the bed!

    1. But there’s so much outside to sniff, Mom! Our little hunter is going crazy with all the spring smells. We got to 10 above freezing today – balmy. Thanks for the virtual hug. The zentangles gives my hands something to do, and calm my mind.
