This ache,
this searching
how rawly
I feel your absence
Selfishly ignoring
your heart
reaching out
trying to connect
a lifetime of circling
without closing the gap
Ironic
illusion
of distance

Wow, VJ. I loved your expression of the concept of “a lifetime of circling / without closing the gap”. That brings up so many memories of relationships I’ve had. Well done!

Wonderful, VJ. How we see space where there should really be no gap.

Exactly, Eilene. I wrote it for my mother – who I struggled with most of my life – only to realize now that she is in her 90’s that the distance was never really there.

Sometimes, we are just, too desperate in, holding onto someone or something, that we can’t even, realize, that the person or thing has already “checked out”…and we end up, trapped.
