Cardinal sings me awake
promises a verdant day
viburnum scented breezes
and the sun’s warming light.
(Tuesdays, I borrow a poem from Twitter @Vjknutson. Image from personal collection. Linking this up with my weekly challenge, which is morning. Also linking up with Eugi’s Causerie prompt of the week: song.)
Lovely photo – looks like he was staring you down. The poem is quite joyful, too. I saw two male cardinals on the branches the other day, probably vying for territory. I loved the contrast. Your photo shows buds on trees. We have no buds yet.

No buds here yet either, LuAnne – photo is from last Spring. I was conjuring warmer weather. Thanks

Keep at it, girlfriend. I’m ready for spring. Bet that cardinal is too. 🙂

I was looking for those ‘eager yips’ in your poem – a picture or a description 🙂

I never regret rain, well here it is so vital given our unique fragility.
