Hope glitters
like rays of golden
sunlight piercing
the thick overgrowth
of this life.
Dare I respond,
or is this merely
the sharp deflection
of light on tinfoil
meant to keep
scavengers away?
(Dare I Hope? first appeared three years ago, when the four walls of my bedroom and the mattress I laid upon defined my life. I have polished it a bit here for my weekly challenge which is “anniversary”. Looking back to those times, I am able to acknowledge progress and affirm that the hope I was feeling had validity. I love the abiding question, the human condition.

So glad your daring to hope did have validity. This is a very inspiring poem, V.J. The photo is beautiful as well.

Wonderful write, my friend. I think that whenever we feel the least bit of hope, we should grab it! I spent too many years holding it at arm’s length, fearing it would melt away if I embraced it…better to grab and nurture it, it just might grow!

If we didn’t have hope, where would we be? Timely post. And a beautiful sky too.

Hope is never wasted effort … though sometimes, it does require a bit of effort!
