Sister was a hurricane –
destruction her path
Tried to calm, encourage
but her core was damaged
Try to reach her now,
across death’s abyss
understand before
her legacy swallows me.

powerful, my sister is a destructive tornado … knowingly 😦 She has no desire to face the harm she causes or try to change so I’ve stepped away since mothers death

It’s never easy, to break ourselves away, from what’s already, too, deep into our psyche, our beings, it takes a lot of, self-awareness to know what causes us to react a certain way, and it takes even more energy to change, to not repeat thus same old, vicious, cycle.

I think understanding and making peace with that legacy would be very difficult.

I was so much younger and she died at 43. Now, in these later years, I wonder at who she really was and why. Thank you

As an only child I never had the experience of a sibling. I tend to think it might might have been intense! Your writing does hit home in so many ways.
