Pockets of light
illuminate the shore:
day submitting to dark
I trace the lines
of our passage
remembering
How winds and tides
shaped us; how carelessly
we wasted time…
Danced around
our solitudes –
imitating intimacy
(Tuesdays, I borrow from Twitter @Vjknutson. Image my own)
Every stanza is beautiful and packed with meaning. Just lovely, VJ!

Yes, we can only live as we are.

There is a lightness to this poem. Sometimes I long for those moments that the second stanza takes me to. It seems the older we get, the more we forget to be careless with our time.

So true. It’s like an urgency takes over. Thanks Heather
