And when the fatal breath expels
and all is quiet, will you remember me
Bright as an orange bloom
with my words locked inside
A poem inspiring eternity
or will my essence shrivel
Be lost – like dust particles
exposed in afternoon sunbeams?

Beautiful last stanza, VJ.

This one took my breath away too, but for me it was the second stanza. Powerful.

Mmmm … both the possibilities intrigue … I ponder all my son never shared/expressed (both creatively and simple human observations), ponder is that really lost, or simply floating free to align with another soul who may yet deliver …
Beautifully written, VJ – I’m saving a copy of this one!
(Odd to not have an image … but perhaps that fits the verse’s puzzle)

I like your idea of souls aligning. I often think of that concerning loved ones I’ve lost. There is a picture associated with the poem, wonder why it didn’t show up. I’ve changed the blog theme, maybe that is going to be a glich.

Thanks Liz. Sometimes we just have those moments of wondering what it is all for…

Yes, I was having one of those yesterday. Collapsed in tears in a Zoom meeting.
