Fickle, I am –
life cycles catching me
unaware, unstable –

Lessons I appreciate
opportunities to expand

But this isolation
this carrel-based living
limits perspective

Still, I try.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. Love the expression ”carrel-based living”. It pinpoints so accurately how a cloistered environment and/or physical limitations within the body can affect the possibility of fulfilling one’s potential, yet there is always hope. All one can do is keep going and relish the joyful moments when they do come. Lovely flowers. πŸ™‚

  2. Beautiful art, VJ. I’m trying to stay positive but it’s stressful to be confined. We picked up our groceries last week and I noticed many new buildings being erected just in a week’s time. I feel like my little world is growing without me. Geeez!
