My heart is a brook,
joyous as a child’s song,
memories like moss
warm my wintry verges –
luminescence from within.
(For RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku challenge: brook/ moss; and Eugi’s weekly prompt: luminescent.)

Thanks Liz. By the way, might have stayed up a little too late last night reading “Telling Sonny”.

Phenomenal job with the prompts! I loved how you used brook and moss in such a different way, spiritual instead of just how it is seen in nature! Just brilliant! 😀 ❤

I also like the moss analogy. And warm with wintry!

Thank you Eugenia. It was challenging but I like where the word took me.

On first read I thought my favorite line was “warm my wintry verges”…I keep rereading this and love all the words! Love the metaphors and the sweetness.

Thanks so much Betty, and nice to hear from you. Is it warm there? We’ve had two days of snow and quite cold. Missing Texas.

Such a happy poem, V.J. “memories like moss” – oh how I love this comparison. I love how the moss in my yard stays green all winter. It’s not odd that I love moss – my mother’s family name was Moss. 🙂
