My heart is a brook,
joyous as a child’s song,
memories like moss
warm my wintry verges –
luminescence from within.

(For RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku challenge:  brook/ moss; and Eugi’s weekly prompt: luminescent.)

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. Phenomenal job with the prompts! I loved how you used brook and moss in such a different way, spiritual instead of just how it is seen in nature! Just brilliant! 😀 ❤

  2. Such a happy poem, V.J. “memories like moss” – oh how I love this comparison. I love how the moss in my yard stays green all winter. It’s not odd that I love moss – my mother’s family name was Moss. 🙂
