No sound, no movement
the bullfrog obliges lens –
I am conqueror,
superior – then espy
miniscule me in his eye.
(A tanka for Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Challenge: sound/ motion. Image from personal collection. I am pondering the unanswerable this week, and I think this poem fits – conjures questions about where we all fit within this universe.)
Love this – especially the way the frog seems to get the upper hand at the end!

Don’t our subjects always get the upper hand, lol. Thanks.

Love this! Having shot many a critter over the years and on occasion seeing my reflection in an eye. Great juxtaposition of the viewer/viewee.

I love the reflection, almost quite disturbing, as if the frog is some kind of artificial intelligence / cctv camera / alien – this makes my mind wander in so many different ways. 50 years ago this would have made a great psych / prog rock album cover!

Right on, lol! I agree – the reflection is eerie.

Wow, loved this! We each see ourselves as grand, but in reflection are we? The bullfrog may see it differently, as any other might!

Exactly, Heather – kind of puts things in a different perspective.
