Ablaze (haiku)

(A haiku for Spring)

Subtlety unknown,
Spring’s repertoire bold and bright –
soul responds in kind.

Flowers greet the rain
face-up appreciation –
nourishment’s glow.

Flowers awaken
imagination – magic
paints the garden bed.

August eyes are brown
winking in yellow bonnets –
flirtatious Susans.
