If
I were
to write
every day
for one
hundred days,
would my soul
be purged of
this malaise;
is it a thing
to be dredged,
dragged up –
twisted
and tied
like tattered
bed sheets
knotted
together;
is there
a remedy
for this
scourge;
or is this
an inherent
restlessness,
a fiery blue
spark of eternal
angst igniting
passion – a call
to write?

I’m afflicted with the same impulse, VJ: nary a day goes by ….. I see it as a blessing ; to be a creative is a wonderful talent — and the dark and angsty are still valid artistic moods: they are all part of the rainbow of feelings we humans are exposed to —-

It’s all of those things! And sometimes, it’s best to take those sheets connected, jump out the window and run away! 😉 Loved the cadence in this piece, VJ.

I’m feeling the run away interpretation, Susi, lol.

I’m not sure all the writing I’ve done has purged that bad things. But I don’t doubt our strong emotions can be turned into verbal and visual art! You prove that often.

“an inherent restlessness”…..now I think that for me is probably what it is. Brilliant poem…it asks the questions…JIM

As someone who writes every day I find it theraputic, and I am able to get a lot of emotions out, it has helped me a lot to be able to write xoxo

Can’t answer to the malaise, but I bet something wonderful would result from you writing for that many days. You are amazing. Your words are beautiful. Thanks, VJ

I do believe, and do not know, this may be the question of every writer, whether poetry or prose.
You penned it well!
