Yearning, so unrestrained
passion’s flame willfully
failing accountability
Urgency is infectious
vulnerability feeds the sickness
co-dependence overstays
Naïvité on repeat –
mother complex burns
obsessive obligations
Abandonment inevitable
wounds stagnating
threaded histories unravelling
Grief, oppression –
How does one breathe?
Sorrowful, unbalanced
Unmodulated caring
charred tendencies
destined to scorch anew.

Very very powerful reflections on entrapped love

Powerful, VJ! The raw emotion and intensity in this really hits. The sense of unraveling and unmodulated care is so palpable. 🔥
Much love,

Your painting is so beautiful, and the emotions so intense. Those flames are hard to ever put out completely. (K)

HA! I wrote the following this morning, because I dreamed….
She turns nightmares into poems and dreams into stories/tries to let neither win, by giving God the glory.
so often I fail but we are not responsible for what happens in sleep.
I just love the image!!!!

The title choice so exemplifies the underlying theme in your poem. How does one break the cycle….so very difficult.

Thanks Heather. Like many of my poems, it arises from a dream – still processing poor choices from the past apparently.

Our dreams sometimes are reminders of that, for sure.
