Does peace have a sound,
and if it does, is it soft like a whisper,
or chime-like – a resonance
reverberating from tip to crown?
I have known exaltation,
felt my heart thrill at the dance
of dolphins just beyond my reach
I have known elation, awe,
honour and humility,
but would I recognize peace?
Joy is a child’s laughter
bliss, indescribable pleasure,
so why am I forgetting peace?
Does peace have a sound
and if it does, will I recognize it
attuned as I am to discord?

awesome poem VJ … sadly most of us are more attuned to discord … for me the sound of peace is silence in the midst of nature. Inner contentment is affinity with peace and acceptance 🙂

Nicely put, Cindy. Yes, I do find peace when I am alone in nature. Thanks

No idea about peace but I do know silence can be deafening.
Awesome poetry. Keep writing. Stay blessed.

Another beauty, VJ. If peace has a sound, how will we ever hear it over the cacophony of angry voices.

I love the image, and the poem is beautiful. For sure peace has sound, many of them, depending on our needs. It can be the sound of the silence or the sound of a rock band.

Interesting. I would never equate rock bands with peace, lol. I guess it all depends on our preferences. Thanks.

Yes, VJ! I always have that same thrill at the sight of Dolphins ☺️💕 As for peace, you know it when when you allow yourself to feel it. I think we fight for it so passionately that we don’t recognize it when it comes.

My thoughts exactly, Christine. We give it lip service, but do we ever savour it, actually?

Oh my…”attuned as I am to discord”…this is a deep revelation, VJ, and I appreciate it because I suspect you aren’t alone. How can you detect peace when your filters and intakes are primed for the unease, the disruptiveness. You’re giving me plenty to mull over this morning. Thank you! ❣

I think peace has many sounds, and we always recognize it when we hear it. Right now, for me, it is the birds happy chatter in the tree.

Peace is a whisper
agentle wind in the Birch.
The nectar in the the flower.
You would recognise it.
It is you in harmony.
