Unquenchable thirst –
drink from the fountain of wild
yet plain, I remain –
sixty years of repressed fire
shall not be easily quelled.

Good morning, VJ. I love the poem (as usual, I can very much relate), and the image is very intriguing as well. I did not know what a tanka was, so I looked it up. Japanese 5-7-5-7-7. An expanded haiku? As well as enjoying your work, I learned something again today, so thank you. 🙂

Well, we play with the form, given the original structure was Japanese, lol. Thanks!
