Tragedy (tanka)

Melancoly drags –
one young lovelorn foot stuck in
regret’s muddy path –
ignores what is near, mistakes
what if for what is. Tragic.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. Even after decades of making the mistake of seeing what if instead of what is (a friend of mine refers to this mistake as a consciousness of lack) I still need to be reminded how tragic this mistake can be. Thank you, VJ.
