The loon’s call
pierces complacency…
I spiral backwards,
inwards – depths
of dream forgotten –
an eerie awakening.

The call of the loon is a sensory memory entangled with the joys of camping long ago. Beautiful photo, V.J.

Seemingly a long time ago my family and I would spend summers on Squam Lake New Hampshire…where I first encountered Loons. An ‘eerie awakening’ describes them so. beautifully. Thank you:)
