Sun and Moon

Sun’s gift a final blaze
draws me to cliff’s edge

darkness doesn’t credit day
owes it allegiance to another

the great moon orator
whose tides and pull

send me plunging
ego-less and flailing

till morning sets me
on my feet again.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. Your words and painting are on fire VJ! πŸ”₯ Have you ever wondered how much of your creativity was ignited by your health issues. And if you would have written and created from such a deep soulful space, if it hadn’t been for your challenges? Curious to know your thoughts. Because from what I can see, your shadow becomes our light. 🌝 πŸ’

    1. You are 100% on the money. I started my first blog when waiting the results of a lumpectomy. Then when ME struck and sent me to bed poetry took hold. As I was able to sit up longer and get out a bit, my husband gave me a camera and bought me art supplies. I knew that the gift in all of this was creativity.
I was far too busy of a person before illness to take the time, lol. Bless you for affirming my process.
