Writer’s Bane

Poet’s mind fragile
images ripe, words lacking
waste of genius
shadows whisper of bathos –

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. It is so ironic that I just came to your site and read your post. I was thinking earlier today that I have so many ideas, I just need to put them in writing. But when it comes to it I draw a blank. Then I read you writing and it was like you read my mind, You put it in words perfectly.

      1. Some of the beauty of keeping touch with people here. You sort of get to know each other and see insights that are really helpful especially while being so unsocial than we are used to.

  2. You summed it up in so few words, and captured the angst of an artist.
I’ve been having trouble with WordPress lately, and I don’t see an image, was that purposeful or just me?

  3. That’s poetry, to be able to use words like this effortlessly: “bathos “. This one is really interesting! This sums up the struggle of a writer: “Images ripe, words lacking”.

    1. Thanks Benjamin. I confess, I have to look many words up and then look them up again, as I suffer from inflammation on the brain. Makes me question everything.
