These words illusion
portray vibrancy of life
belie the mundane
wicked exhaustion my truth
drudgery daily routine.
(For Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Challenge: wicked/ mundane; and BrewNSpew’s prompt: illusion. Forgive me for indulging in a moment of self-pity. Post celebration crash normal. Image from personal collection.)
Are you over the holiday hump now? Or more celebrations (and crashes) ahead yet?
On our end, we have a huge family gathering on Christmas Eve – spend the next 2 days recovering – then we hitch up the Airstream and go elsewhere to further recover (ie, lots of naps, naps, naps!) Grandkids are wonderful but soooo exhausting. I suppose once upon a time I had that kind of energy.

We are mostly over the hump. Have a little one staying with us for the weekend. Looking forward to some crash time. Where are you off to next. Oh, I’m missing Texas.

We’re headed to Mineral Wells State Park a bit west of Fort Worth … new to us … friends recommended it. We have a goal of seeing every state park for at least one night … we’ll be at Mineral Wells for four.

As long as it’s only a moment and you don’t linger in it! 😀 ❤

No point lingering, Deborah. And so it goes.

There is nothing wrong with a little self-pity, every now and again.

Thanks Liz. Winter is not kind to my body. I will moan and move on.
