Evolution,
not devolution,
will bring salvation.
Archeology –
the willingness
to forage
in the desert:
multi-layers
of fallout,
aftermaths,
abandonments –
unearthing
fragments,
reconstructing –
meaning,
history,
value –
brings redemption.

Thanks, V.J. I appreciate your saying that.

I like how the form of the poem gives that sense of exposing layers to reconstruct meaning. But of course now that I see the poem was revised from a previously published version, I want to know why and how. 😉

Thanks Liz. If you enter the title in the search bar, both versions should come up

Thanks, V.J. I just compared the two versions. This current one is very much a refinement, a sharpening, of the first one. I love to see the writing process at work! Thanks for letting me witness yours.

Liz, I so appreciate your feedback and presence. Thanks for taking time to compare. Seems I can’t revisit any old work without revising.
