Fierce and majestic,
the bald eagles scour
the river, while I,
in awe stand witness.
Last year,
it was a mated pair
whose white crowns
commanded audience
Now, the offspring,
perches princely
claims this tract
and my allegiance
Feathered grandeur
and piercing eyes
a royal presence
somehow coherent.
(Inspired by the promptings of Ragtag Community: prince, and Fandango’s: coherent. Β Also linking up with Granny Shot It’s: BOTD. Β The image is from personal collection and available through Society6.)
So well done–BRAVO!

I tried to find all the places where my responses on your blog were MIA…one time it said, “duplicate comment”, so I guess they’re all there somewhere. I’m gonna call it Done–and in future, I’ll check to see if my comments “attach”…might have to go to your blog to leave comments, rather than doing them from Reader here. Good grief, Charlie Brown!

Thanks Betty. Only since we moved out of the city, have I seen them. We’re lucky to have them nearby.

I’ve never seen a bald eagle in person – I’ll bet it’s stunning. Your photo sure is!

I think it’s the size of them that astounds me every time. Thanks.

Stunning photo, VJ! He could claim my allegiance too, charming pose. We had binocular fun watching 4 bald eagles (2 young) in Colorado on one of our extended day drives – they did not bless us with proximity for photos!

They are so amazing. Many photos I am unable to capture. Last night he flew up and down the river at eye level. Wish I could have captured that
