One rose
dripping red, like blood from thorns –
a warning? a promise?
even roses die –
love, too?

Fabulous photo. There is a sadness to the photo that matches the words.

Makes me think of various fairly tales…yes, everything dies eventually, roses and even love…

Well, the title was suggesting that all things have seasons. Spring comes again.

I do the best I can about commenting on posts…sometimes I get it wrong…maybe I’m in a negative mood, or tired, in a hurry to acknowledge fellow bloggers. I end up closing blogs when I feel I’ve caused offense…and then I come back (new blog), and wonder if I should follow the same people…whether I should just LIKE, not comment, to avoid trouble… I don’t know…

Glad to hear I’m not alone in my struggle. I find I’m overwhelmed by the number of alerts alone. Some days I just do likes, and some days I skip posts. Bottomline is we have to protect ourselves and the rest is just gravy.

Very thought provoking poem V.J. Does love really ever die? Or is if the sometimes limited
perception of humans that make it seem so ….

Exactly – as the title implicates, there are seasons for everything, and those of us who are older know that love has seasons too.

I thought it was a camellia not a rose. My camellias are late this year…. we’ve had more cold.

You could be right – I know very little about flowers, lol.

You pulled that one together, both thoughts, the metaphor, beautifully, V.J.

I just read “White Rose” by revivedwriter; now I find your red rose to be equally stunning! I can’t get away from Lines 4-5: “even roses die — / love, too?” That’s poignant.
