Fishing

Like fisherman throwing their lines,
she casts her spells…imagines
the universe as an ocean,
conceives of elementals, hungry
for bait, waiting to nibble at her intentions –
as if words hold sway –
thinks patience is her key,
believes that with just the right lure,
she can reel in destiny,
determine fate.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. Impressive! Your words absolutely suffice on their own – coupled (tripled?) with the images the words become even stronger. You have written a concise guide to divining one’s own life – the power of imagination + intentions + patience to “reel in destiny” – WOW!
