This rage –
this storm,
waves crashing
against walls
impenetrable
I am ice,
unforgiving,
unrepentant,
wounded
thrashing
against a beast
unwittingly
played by you
We freeze.
I’ve come undone;
you are battered.
It is irreparable
absolute
until one of us
shifts, and fear
surges, unleashing
tears
and transformation.
I found the interjection of the words “we freeze” very powerful.
Your passion for writing is so clear to me here…. 👏🏻💜😊

Thanks, Diana. Is it passion or obsession, lol.

Applause for your title … sometimes rage is necessary for release of pent-up inner interference with acceptance of individual differences, with understanding not only the other but oneself. Sometimes rage serves as catalyst for growth in relationship. (But not when staged deliberately!!)

Thanks Jazz. I am currently exploring rage with my therapist (related to childhood events). She thought it would be helpful to write about it.

Thank her for me – reading this reinforces my courage to accept my own inability to stifle rage … when in the midst, hard to see ANY value! Yet often it does indeed fuel transformation. Very wise poem you’ve shared.

Thanks again. Likely there will be more. I’ve decided it is time to face this shadow.

Your words take us on our own personal journey from anger to release to peace. All in real time. Often as quickly as your words move. Totally transformed. Beautifully captured in your post.
Always grateful for your writing. 🙏💙
