I navigate sharp twists,
confront rough trails,
steep slopes, swoon
at dizzying heights,
feel my frailty –
this path is for rugged,
mountain-born,
those accustomed
to the sheer immutable
force of rock –
and yet, my lens
tells a different tale –
speaks of shadows
shifting, witnesses
mutations of colour
describes a giant
whose facade reflects
the day’s passing light,
demonstrates compassion
in earth’s stillness.
Beautiful, I love the contrast.

Each layer presents a moment of time captured…cemented in, pressed, and preserved. Such beautiful colors and moments in time.

Bless you for reading and commenting on my “stuff” as my kids call it. It means a lot to know that what we writes connects us to another.

Lovely photo and verse. It looks like Arizona to me. Have you made it that far in your cross-country trip?

You are correct! We are just outside of Phoenix.
