(I came across this poem, and was stricken by how applicable it is to our world today. Hope my reading does it justice.)
I am so tired of waiting,
Aren’t you,
For the world to become good
And beautiful and kind?
Let us take a knife
And cut the world in two –
And see what worms are eating
at the rind.

Great reading from a great poet. It absolutely fits today.

I agree that this poem suits our world so well at the moment. And the worms would be an interesting to examine too. Did you choose the photo with the sunflower’s ( Ukraine) on purpose.? I suspect you did.

Thanks Anne. It’s a photo collage I created

This is an excellent suggestion and your reading was perfect! I do agree with others that we should examine for the worms and then be the change we want to see in the world. I’m naturally optimistic, so I know all this will pass.

Yes, this is so applicable to our current situation. I think I could guess on some of the worms we’d see. That is an excellent photo compilation, VJ. Just perfect for the poem.

Such a poignant description of our world. Instead of waiting let us be messengers of change with acts of kindness. One person one act of kindness can make the difference in someone’s day. 🙏🏾

We must stop waiting for it to become anything. It’s up to us to make it what we want. Yes, cut it apart, examine, question, think, and rid ourselves of the worm. And be the goodness, kindness, and beauty for which we yearn.

We are, stuck, in this, awful world, and, we can’t, escape, so, we all need to, adapt ourselves, to, adjust, best as we possibly can, to, keep on, survung.

Yes. We must strive for balance in our own lives, or we are of no help to the world, much in need at the moment.
