Castles and lockets:
the makings of childhood dreams –
I wander pastures
of blue-tainted memories,
see patterns on regret’s wings.

I love it when I read a poem a second time and can go deeper, a third time and go deeper still. This tanka did that for me. The last line is beautiful. Your image is perfect for this layered poem.

I really like this and feel the patterns and then connect with the image and feel that letting go – and release regret !

Oh yes, the regrets. I’m feeling them too. I’ve come to the conclusion, VJ, that no matter what paths we choose, there will always be some of that. Every choice we make comes at some cost. I guess the trick is to acknowledge the cost, but to focus on the positive aspects of what we learned along the way. I love your poetry.

I love the image VJ, and your cleverly ‘borrowed lines (something borrowed something blue?) which work beautifully together.
