Trade you an ‘n’
for a ‘v’, I said
to the moon
to the sun
to the bird
at my window
All obliged
and now
my lonely day
is lovely,
lovely,
lovely.

Oh, this is just so good! We’ve been in lockdown and home-schooling for months and I would dearly love a day alone.

I bet you would! My adult children are the same. I must treasure my solitude. Thanks Kate.

Sorry…give you an ‘a’ for your ‘ly’. That makes more sense.

I knew what you meant. It works!

This brought a smile to my face. I’ll trade your ‘l’ for an ‘a’; alone, but not lone-ly. The moon and the sun and the birds have been my companions on many days and I welcomed them. Yes, all it takes is making a slight change to one’s inner dialogue. Cute painting, V.J.

As with others, that subtle shift made all the difference. If you don’t mind, I would like to use this in a birthday card I will send out tomorrow. I will cite you as the author, of course. It just seems like what my friend needs right now, living alone and isolated.

Thanks, I got the card off yesterday. I even put a little bird with the poem. I think she will enjoy it. So thanks for giving us all the poem, and letting me share it as well.
