Tired by Langston Hughes

I am so tired of waiting,
Aren’t you,
For the world to become good
And beautiful and kind?
Let us take a knife
And cut the world in two –
And see what worms are eating
At the rind.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.

  1. “I am so tired of waiting,
    Aren’t you,
For the world to become good
And beautiful and kind?” …. yes, is my answer, but I’d rather have a wand than a knife.
