A rustle, a song
chick-a-dee-dee-dee
my heart thrills
black cap
and grey back
he branch hops
delightful antics
chick-a-dee-dee-dee
my camera snaps.
(Granny Shot It is hosting a Bird Of The Day challenge, so I’ve decided to hop on Fridays.)

Chickadees hold a special place in my heart because my mother would get so excited over them when I was little.

How wonderful that she shared that love with you. Chickadees were my first social studies subject when I was 8 and I’ve been entranced ever since.

I would love to have studied chickadees in social studies!

Delightful! I can feel the lightness (much needed) in your words–especially like “branch hops”…kind of like “club hopping” for birds π
