Artistic sensibility
hungering for the exquisite
craves expression
The critic guffaws
decries creativity
starves the impulse
Who unleashed
such nonsense,
such magical thinking?
To think beauty
once espied
can be replicated
and by such an amateur –
the unskilled hand
an unworthy representative
But the artist, unleashed
knows only magic –
the genie will not be rebottled.
(This is an edited version of a previous post. Art my own.)
“the genie will not be rebottled” is the absolute truth

Too many critics in this world. But the magic of creation drowns them out. (K)

The genie eschews the bottle because it represents confinement and limitations, whereas being outside the bottle offers freedom, autonomy, and the ability to explore and interact with the world more fully. Plus, the bottle smells of old genie socks and greedy wishes.

This is superb. So many people’s creativity has been stifled because of some ‘critic’ – critics that in so many cases simply don’t have a clue, and that includes the critic within each one of us, fulled by those who do not have a clue:)

…”starves the impulse”…what a way to describe the hesitancy to create…a deep reluctance.
Thank you, VJ. And your art! Wow! I love all of your pieces, but this one really captivates. xo! š

If through any art forms, you feel you are, expressing yourself, then, basically, what you do is, considered as art to you, and, who cares, what anybody says or thinks, so long as you KNOW what you do is art, then, that should be, all that, matters.
