Every child a dreamer
school the tribunal
where imagination
is sentenced to death
Adulthood is a canyon
where ambition shelters
the broader view, till age
resurrects the child.

There are advantages in aging. This one made me smile.

Thanks, Elizabeth. I think that is true for most of us, especially if we constantly told she was bad or unwanted.

Yes!!! bloody hell they are still trying to kill kids souls off in schools.. and I get it about later life.. My feeling is that child always waits for us to turn back to him or her since she or he is the truest part of us, at least that is my belief, and this poem expresses that truth so well.

I think you’re right that the child is the truest part of us.

She is certainly the key to our strengths and resourcefulness.

Love the image and the sentiment. Why do schools work so hard to rob us of creativity and individuality? How great when we reconnect with this aspect of ourselves!

That’s a very good question. I’m still seeing the damage from No Child Left Behind.

Love this one. I have a fridge magnet that says ;”It is never too late to have a happy childhood.” Some days I am having it now!
