Ebb and Flow

Shore knows repetition
tides thrust, withdraw –
natural rhythm

Why then should I question
strife’s return – is it not just
tide returning my load?

Not as stalwart as the shore
misery bleeds onto page
tainting my ocean.

Permission to write, paint, and imagine are the gifts I gave myself when chronic illness hit - a fair exchange: being for doing. Relevance is an attitude. Humour essential.
