Compare every love to first
unrequited – a poetess
obsessed – regret, longing
No wonder I lack roots
goodbyes stack up
like cardboard mannequins
There is no presence in yearning
I am automaton, disengaged
heart chained to fantasy.

True words. I can resonate with them. Lovely touching weaving.

I LOVE THIS! It takes a foolish heart first to ever become a wise heart. Or at least I hope that’s the case. I’m still falling into the foolish heart stage too often. Hopefully, better day ahead. But … back to the poem. So many good lines, V.J.. Like this: “heart chained to fantasy”. We’re all chained to something, and the key is breaking through out bondage. Oh, this one really works on so many levels. Pure poetry!

I have been accused of being helpless romantic at times….hard to shake it, even after all the years of hurt. Thanks Benjamin, my fellow hopeless romantic.

I think you told me something of that before. You used to write many love poems and then you got a bit sick of it, yes? Well, yes the love poems always keep flowing no matter what happens. Like you said: “hard to shake!”

Your poem resonates deeply with me. I have moved many times in my life. Your second stanza spoke to me. Love your image. Is that a photograph?

It is a photograph. Thanks Michele.

I thought so, but with your talent it could have been a painting too.

That’s sweet of you. Painting skills not quite that good.

Is that a painting, or a processed photograph? I rather like it π π
