Followed the wind –
a child without boundaries –
Experience, especially hardship
clipped those wings
Lost faith in the wind,
pushed against her flow
Till nothing was left of me
fight diminished by final blow
The wind, though, she persisted
picked up my diminished spirit
tossed me in her whimsical way
rekindled the child.

Love the concept in this poem. The rhythm and rhyme work so beautifully together. All together a special poem for me!

I love how you flip the poem, flip the wind to be precise. Wonderful resolution.

This very much praise-worthy! Read that ending a few times. It’s superb! We all have the inner child waiting to return.

We do! Mine is very noisy these days. Thanks Benjamin!

Mine is getting noisy also lol. But maybe writing quiets it for a bit. I feel writing brings a bit of that kid-like exuberance back.

I love the image! I like the wind as a positive force for the child, yet a negative force for the adult. I hadn’t really thought of it in quite this way before, but it’s true!
