I am so tired of waiting,
Aren’t you,
For the world to become good
And beautiful and kind?
Let us take a knife
And cut the world in two –
And see what worms are eating
At the rind.

A very good choice for Black History Month. Langston Hughes had a way of crafting a poetry that cut to the bone.

We don’t have to change the world, we only have to change ourselves. 🧙♂️

“I am so tired of waiting,

For the world to become good
And beautiful and kind?” …. yes, is my answer, but I’d rather have a wand than a knife.
